About Us

      Construction has been part of my life since I was 14 years old. Before starting J. Powers Construction, I worked alongside experienced contractors across multiple trades, building my knowledge through hands-on experience one project at a time. Much of my education came from the jobsite—studying, asking questions, solving problems, and constantly improving. I believe experience isn't measured by time alone, but by a commitment to never stop learning.

 

      As my experience grew, I realized my greatest strength wasn't just building homes—it was leading projects. I enjoy coordinating skilled trades, planning complex renovations, solving problems before they become expensive, and making sure every part of a project comes together the way it should. That drive to take ownership and deliver better results is what led me to start J. Powers Construction.

 

      When you hire J. Powers Construction, you're working directly with me. I'm actively involved throughout the project—from planning and scheduling to overseeing the work and maintaining quality standards. My job is to make sure every phase stays organized, every trade is held accountable, and the finished product meets the standard I expect for my own home.

 

      One of the biggest problems I see in this industry is contractors taking on work they're not qualified to perform. I've been brought in many times to fix projects after another contractor walked away or left behind poor workmanship. Those experiences reinforced something I'll never compromise on: structural integrity, safety, and quality craftsmanship always come before speed, shortcuts, or saving a few dollars.

 

      I enjoy working with homeowners who value quality, thoughtful planning, and clear communication. My clients aren't looking for the cheapest contractor—they're looking for someone they can trust to protect their investment and deliver the project the right way. Whether it's a kitchen remodel, home addition, interior renovation, custom deck, garage, siding project, or complete home renovation, every project receives the same level of attention and care.

 

      At the end of every project, I want my clients to feel confident they made the right decision. I want them to say, "He did exactly what he said he was going to do. The project was finished on time, built correctly, and I never had to wonder if it was being done right." That's the standard I hold myself to on every job.
